Raise your pen

There’s nothing quite like holding a book in your hand that contains one of your stories, and feeling so damn proud your little heart almost bursts from your ribcage.

A good quality book is one thing to be proud of, but one whose prime purpose is to help others adds a whole different element.

100 Stories for Queensland: a charity anthology is a new book being compiled to assist victims of the shocking flood disaster currently affecting the state. It follows in the footsteps of 100 Stories for Haiti and 50 Stories for Pakistan, and the editors are asking for submissions.

Stories should be unpublished, between 500 – 1000 words, and the deadline is Friday, January 28th. Further details can be found on their Facebook page, or on their website.

So if you’ve been rustling up the courage to submit work, this is the perfect opportunity. We’ve all been watching the coverage and wishing we could help more, wondering what to do in addition to donating money, what we have to offer.

Now we know.
